I Got You

A True Story of Heroism and Loss

The Synopsis.

I Got You is the riveting, fast-paced, insightful account of the infamous Porterville Library Fire. This story will lift the spirits through the bravery of the men fighting the fire and sober the hearts through the tale of the families and friends impacted by the deaths.

On February 18, 2020, at 4:15pm, a family, a community, and a nation were forever changed by the death of two firefighters: Patrick Jones and Captain Ray Figueroa. I Got You focuses on Patrick Jones and launches the reader into the breathtaking action of the fire, the search for those trapped in the library, the chaos surrounding the “mayday,” and the harrowing days following the fire.

It highlights the search for Patrick’s body, the hope amidst the pain, the fire’s investigation, and the delayed trial of the boys who set the fire. On top of it all, this is the story of a life well lived for Jesus Christ.

I Got You details how Patrick deeply impacted and influenced those who knew him best: his father, mother, brother, sister, close friends, co-workers, mentors, and more.

The story will inspire prayer, hope, and a closer walk with Christ.

Katie has been on an extraordinary theological journey. In my mind, she is a theologian; she has studied God because the only way she could live was to study God.

Rev. Mary Maaga

I connected with her in some way that struck me as very interesting. Talking with Katie felt very natural. She was a strong, genuine woman with such a spark.

Even today, it's fantastic to see that after everything they've been through, she doesn't let that dim her spirits; she's still persevering.

I greatly admire that—and I believe you, the reader, do now as well.
